Applying for a BSUAOP Scholarship
The vice president is in charge of scholarships. They review the applications to ensure they meet qualifications and present them to the AOP Board with recommendations, who then vote on the final decision.
If applying for a scholarship for Boise State tuition, it is limited to a maximum of 9 credits at $5.00 per credit hour plus the registration fee. Applicants should apply for the tuition waiver offered to Boise State employees first. Forms are available from the Boise State Human Resources website: https://www.boisestate.edu/hrs/benefits/tuition-fee-waiver-employee/.
Scholarship payment will be paid to the order of the educational institution unless the original receipt and scholarship approval is submitted for reimbursement. Scholarship applications for tuition for attending institutions other than Boise State will be considered.
Scholarships are available, but not limited to, the following: BSUAOP Professional Development Day, National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) annual conference, and workshops and training provided by other organizations.
Scholarships should not exceed $200 per year per person unless special circumstances are approved by the board.
The following criteria will be used in determining eligibility for awarding scholarships:
-
Recipients must be current members of BSUAOP for one full year.
-
Priority will be given to members working on PSP certification.
-
Awards will be given for courses working toward a degree/PSP certificate and courses related to advancing specific skills relevant to each member’s job responsibilities.
-
Priority will be given to those who have participated in planning BSUAOP events and/or those who are or have been members of the board.
-
We may ask for the relevancy of training or PSP intent.
-
Courses of personal interest are excluded.
